Winning Eleven 8 - AFS MAP FOR STADIUMS - WE8

Winning Eleven 8 - AFS MAP FOR STADIUMS - WE8

Hello, in this post I will leave details for the stadiums map within the 0_text.afs

First of all this guide is only for the few fans that still play, edit, modify WE8. It will be useful for those who wants to edit, replace or change stadiums that you would like to insert into the game either because you installed a patch that you like everything except the stadiums that were replaced.

Ok, more importantly I will divide this post into three pieces,

1. What you should know
2. Identifying stadium files
3. AFS MAP for Stadiums

FIRST PART: WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

- There are 29 stadiums in total including the Training ground.
- The files for each stadium are located only within the 0_text.afs of the WE8.
- I recommend using AFS EXPLORER 3.60 since it will facilitate the work.
- Also I must mention that each stadium consists in 44 files in total.

The 44 files of each stadium split up into 4 sections.

These sections refer to:
1. DF = Day fine
2. DR = Day rain
3. NF = Night fine
4. NR = Night rain

besides, these four sections are composed of 11 files each one, here's a pic below (using the AFS Explorer) to show you what I'm trying to explain:

SECOND PART:  IDENTIFYING STADIUM FILES

Starting from here, you all should have AFS EXPLORER opened, it's simple to use, download it, open it and then SELECT: File -> Import AFS File... search for your desired 0_text.afs that will become your victim. xD

1. From the huge list, scroll down till you reach to the files starting with "S" (look first pic)

2. Search for the file named: stj01df_au_aw0.bin

3. This represents the beginning of the stadium files, in this case, the first stadium.

4. As you will notice, the name or ID of the first stadium is stj01, what is next (df_au_aw0) is the id data for the audience, ads, etc. on Day fine for this example.

Also I want to emphasize that each ID includes "j" and "w" it means that a stadium could be from Japan or the Rest of world. "j" stands for Japan stadiums, while "w" refers to rest of world stadiums. See the pic below:

As stipulated above, you should have an idea on how to identify a stadium from its initials files of each section:
- stj01df_au_aw0.bin
stj01dr_au_aw0.bin

stj01nf_au_aw0.bin
stj01nr_au_aw0.bin

NOTE: If you want to change a stadium, it is recommended that you replaces every file of the four sections (11), a total of 44 files.

Of course you won't do it manually. You will have to create a patch of the stadium you are going to insert, using the AFS Explorer. (see pic below)

1. Go to the menu -> Advanced
2. Select "Create Patch..."
3. A pop-window will appear, you will have to select the files for the stadium you are going to replace, insert, etc.
4. Remember that you must select 44 files in total, tick the checkbox displayed in this step to know if you selected every single file for a stadium.
5. Clic on "Create Patch!" and following it will generate you a .AFP file, which you will first save to your PC and later if you want to replace a stadium to another 0_text.afs, from step 1 on the pic, select "Import patch..." instead.

Note: You might also want to replace a stadium within the same 0_text.afs and you might come with the idea of exporting the files from the AFS to then rename every file and re importing them to the AFS file. You can do it that without problems as I've done it before, download Fast File Renamer and it will do the job for you, of course I won't do a step-by-step, try it, it's simple to use it. Just using the AFS Explorer select the 44 files of the stadium you want, and then right-click, Export, it will prompt you to select the folder to export the stadium files, then you can rename it using Fast File Renamer.

GRASS PITCH: For the grass of a stadium, it's only one file, it's: xxx_base.bin using the example of the stadium above, it's: stj01df_base.bin but beware that this is only the grass for the stadium when it's only on DF (Day fine) selected mode as I mentioned above. Check the pic below and you can also preview the grass of each stadium.

1. Go to view.
2. Select Graphic preview or F2
3. Select the stj01df_base.bin file (or any other grass file for any stadium)

THIRD PART:  THE MAP

No more no less, here's the full stadium map with their respective name:

EXTRA: EDIT THE THUMBNAIL OF EACH STADIUM (MODE SELECT)

It's likely that you may want to replace also the preview or thumbnail of each stadium (from the select mode) so that you can have it correctly displayed. For this, the file that contains those thumbnails is called: mode_select_e.txs located on the AFS file e_text.afs.

Using the steps as mentioned above, open the AFS e_text.afs and select the mentioned file (mode_select_e.txs). Aftewards select view -> Graphic preview. Now you can visualize the content of the .txs file and you will have something like this:

These are the thumbnail list of each stadium, you can scroll and see the last one. When you right-clic each thumbnail you get a short menu with the options of "Import BMP" and "Export BMP..." which you should now have an idea on how to replace them with the ones you want.

NOTE: As you will notice, it won't pop-up the menu when you right-click the San Siro thumbnail, because it's protected. The simple solution is using DKZ_Studio for this, in which it will let you replace directly the files no matter what contains. but I won't explain it though till someone asks me to do it or leave a comment.

It's all for now, if you have doubts, every comment is welcome. Long life to Winning Eleven and KONAMI.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2013!
Alberto.

Winning Eleven 8 - WE8 - MAPA AFS PARA LOS ESTADIOS DEL WE8

PRIMERA PARTE: A SABER

1. DF = Day fine
2. DR = Day rain
3. NF = Night fine
4. NR = Night rain

ID/ESTADIO

stj01  - Sapporo Dome (Kanji Dome) [JAPAN]
stj02  - Kashima Soccer Stadium (Dietro Monte) [JAPAN]
stj07  - Yokohama International/Nissan Stadium (Porto Folio) [JAPAN]
stj12  - Nagai Stadium (Queensland Park) [JAPAN]
stj16  - Olympic Stadium (Haze Hills) [JAPAN]
stj30  - Oita Bank Dome (Occhio del Mar) [JAPAN]
stw00 - TRAINING GROUND
stw01 - San Siro (Lombardi Colosseum) [ITALY]
stw02 - Camp Nou (Catalonia Stadium) [SPAIN]
stw03 - Highbury (North East Stadium) [ENGLAND]
stw04 - Amsterdam ArenA (Orange Arena) [NETHERLANDS]
stw05 - Olympiastadion (Bayern Stadium) [GERMANY]
stw06 - Stade Louis II (Monaco Stadium) [MONACO]
stw07 - Old Trafford (Trad Brick Stadium) [ENGLAND]
stw08 - Seoul World Cup Stadium (Nakhon Ratchasima) [S.KOREA]
stw09 - Estadio Alberto J. Armando/La Bombonera (Gran Chaco) [ARGENTINA]
stw10 - Vodacom Park Stadium/Free State (Cuito Canavale) [S.AFRIKA]
stw11 - Estadio Nacional/Columbus Crew (Amerigo Atlantis) [CHILE or USA]
stw12 - Stadio Delle Alpi (Old Lady Stadium) [ITALY]
stw13 - Stadio Olimpico (Cesar Stadium) [ITALY]
stw14 - Ennio Tardini (Emelia Stadium) [ITALY]
stw15 - Stamford Bridge (Blue Bridge Stadium) [ENGLAND]
stw16 - Anfield Stadium (Red Cauldron) [ENGLAND]
stw17 - Parc des Princes (Lutecia Park) [FRANCE]
stw18 - Stade Velodrome (Massilia Stadium) [FRANCE]
stw20 - Westfalenstadion (Borussia Stadion) [GERMANY]
stw21 - Rasunda Stadium (Stockholm Arena) [SWEDEN]
stw22 - St. James Park (Magpie Park) [ENGLAND]

Alberto.
